At the heart of every great cup of coffee lies a memory, warm, familiar, and timeless. For our founder, it began in quiet mornings at his grandparents’ home. Though he was supposed to be asleep, he would often wake to the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the house.

One morning, curiosity got the best of him. He tiptoed into the kitchen and peeked around the counter to see his grandfather sitting with a steaming cup of black coffee, the newspaper spread before him like a ritual. For a moment, he thought his grandfather hadn’t noticed him. Then, with a gentle smile, his grandfather beckoned him over. The boy climbed into his lap. He would later realize how comforting the quiet rhythm of those mornings was, the turning of pages, the sipping of coffee, and the shared stillness.

That moment made him see that coffee was more than a drink. It was tradition. It was connection. It was a reminder that life’s most meaningful moments often happen in stillness.

Years later, that memory inspired Granddaddy’s Honor, created to honor the warmth, simplicity, and meaning of those early mornings.
